While the corporate world has evolved in many ways, the one thing that remains constant is women struggling to get back on track with their jobs after their career break. Given the competitive nature of the job market, post a break it becomes a challenge to find opportunities that suit their calibre and are not left with much choice other than to take up jobs that are available, even if they are overqualified for it.
On the other hand, even if women are willing to work from home, many companies do not encourage this (until recently). All these scenarios cause women to shy away from exploring their full potential and this ultimately shatters their confidence.
Does it always have to be a choice between professional and personal life? Can there not be a way in which women are able to shoulder their family responsibility and at the same time, excel in their career without the ordeal of having to start all over?
